This is a large decorative candle lantern styled after classic railroad or carriage lanterns, constructed of black-painted metal with a distinctive cylindrical barrel body and a large oval/round glass-fronted door that opens on a hinge for candle access. The lantern features a tiered cap with decorative pierced/latticed ventilation cutouts at the chimney collar, a domed finial cap, and a circular hanging ring at the top — all hallmarks of 19th-century railroad and maritime lantern design. Inside the lantern sits a pillar candle holder with a mirrored or reflective base plate designed to amplify candlelight, and the interior contains what appears to be a Home Studio 'Shoreline Collection Island Shore' branded pillar candle. The body measures approximately 12-14 inches in diameter and stands roughly 18-20 inches tall including the hanging hardware, making it a substantial statement piece well-suited for farmhouse, rustic, industrial, or Western-style interiors. Condition is Good overall — the lantern is structurally sound with the hinge and door latch functioning; however, there is a notable area of paint loss/chipping on the upper barrel body where a sticker or label was removed, leaving a silver/bare metal patch approximately 3-4 inches in size visible on two sides. Additional light surface scuffs and minor wear to the matte black finish are consistent with normal use and handling. The glass lens is intact with no cracks or chips noted. A great decorative accent for entryways, patios, or rustic interior spaces.
