Description:

This lot centers on a vintage black metal steamer trunk measuring approximately 30 inches wide by 18 inches deep by 12 inches tall, constructed of steel with brass-toned corner protectors, three hasp-style latches across the front, and side carry handles — a classic mid-20th century travel and storage chest style popular from the 1930s through the 1960s. The trunk is packed with a diverse collection of garage and sporting goods finds, most notably a clear plastic tackle box containing vintage fishing lures including hand-tied fly patterns, spinner baits with copper and silver blades, a bucktail jig, and what appear to be wooden body lures — highly collectible among Colorado trout and bass fishing enthusiasts who frequent Rocky Mountain waterways. Also visible inside the trunk is a boxed Shimano fishing reel (appears to be a spinning reel in original retail packaging), a S&W Premium Blend Coffee tin repurposed for hardware or tackle storage, a jar of Inglehoffer Honey Mustard reused to store hooks and small tackle components, a Twisty key ring display card (still on retail card), a cigar box, an orange plastic tube/container, a cork board, fishing line, and assorted ephemera and smalls. The trunk itself shows honest wear consistent with decades of use including surface scratches and scuffs across the lid, light oxidation to the brass hardware, and some paint loss at the edges, but all three latches appear functional and the structure is solid. Condition of trunk is rated Good with expected patina; contents range from Good to Very Good with some vintage lures showing light tarnish to hooks and hardware. This is an ideal lot for Colorado fishing collectors, estate pickers, or anyone seeking a ready-to-display rustic storage piece loaded with vintage sporting goods surprises.
