Description:

This striking runner rug features a classic kilim-inspired flat-weave or low-pile construction with a bold black ground field showcasing an allover scattered medallion pattern. The geometric star and diamond medallions are rendered in a rich palette of burgundy/crimson, cream/ivory, and olive/khaki tones, creating a dramatic contrast against the deep black background. A narrow gray border frames the central field on all sides, and both ends are finished with natural cream cotton fringe. Based on the measurement photo showing approximately 32” wide and 12’ long, making it an ideal hallway, entryway, or kitchen runner. The stepped geometric medallion motifs are consistent with Turkish, Afghan, or South Asian kilim weaving traditions, and the overall aesthetic bridges Southwestern and global tribal styles that are highly sought after in Colorado mountain homes, Denver lofts, and Western-style interiors. The flat or low-pile weave construction with tightly packed wool fibers suggests quality craftsmanship, likely dating to the late 20th century. Condition is rated Good overall; the rug shows honest use-related wear including some matting and fading to several of the olive-toned medallions, light surface soiling throughout the black field, and minor fiber loss in isolated areas visible in close-up photos. The fringe is intact and largely complete with minor tangling. No holes, tears, or significant structural damage observed. A professional cleaning would restore much of the original vibrancy to this functional and decorative piece.
