This lot comprises six silver-plated serving pieces of varying styles and sizes, offering an excellent collection for entertaining, catering, or display. The grouping includes four round serving trays with classic gadroon (rope-twist) borders ranging in diameter from approximately 10 to 16 inches, one smaller round gallery tray with a pierced decorative rim approximately 7 inches in diameter, and one rectangular two-handled serving tray with a scalloped border approximately 18 by 12 inches. Several of the round trays feature hand-engraved or machine-chased floral and foliate scrollwork across their centers, a decorative technique popular in mid-20th century American and English silver plate production by makers such as Wm. Rogers, International Silver, and Oneida. The gadroon border is a hallmark of Georgian-inspired silverplate design and was widely produced from the 1940s through the 1970s for both domestic and hotel/restaurant use. Condition is mixed across the lot: the larger round gallery tray and rectangular handled tray retain good silver luster with light surface scratches and minor tarnish; two of the engraved round trays show significant tarnish and oxidation with areas of copper base metal showing through the silver plating, particularly in the centers; one engraved round tray shows heavy wear spots where the plating has been polished through, revealing the base metal beneath; the smaller gallery tray shows moderate tarnish. All pieces are structurally sound with no dents, bends, or missing components. Several pieces would benefit from professional polishing or re-plating, while others are display-ready with light cleaning.
