This estate auction lot features a collector-assembled group of Franklin Half Dollars, dating from 1957 through 1963, including Denver Mint (D) issues. Franklin half dollars are composed of 90% silver and remain highly collectible for both their bullion content and classic mid-century design.
Several coins in this group are collector-noted as FBL (Full Bell Lines)—a designation referring to the strong, uninterrupted horizontal lines at the bottom of the Liberty Bell on the reverse. Coins with full bell lines are especially sought after, as many Franklin half dollars were weakly struck.
