Description:

This lot features two vintage skateboards, likely dating from the 1970s, reflecting the early surf-style influence on skateboarding. The first board is a classic wood deck, possibly oak or maple, featuring two prominent black racing stripes on the underside, indicative of the era's aesthetic. It measures approximately 24 inches long by 6 inches wide and is equipped with what appear to be original trucks and reddish-orange urethane wheels, showing significant wear. The second board is a fiberglass-coated wood deck, measuring around 22 inches long by 5.5 inches wide, with a lighter wood tone and a faded 'CY' or similar logo branded into the top surface. This board also retains its original trucks and brown urethane wheels. Both boards represent a significant period in skateboarding history, predating modern concave decks and advanced truck designs. They are excellent examples of early mass-produced skateboards, often sold in department stores, and would appeal to collectors of vintage sports memorabilia or those interested in the evolution of skate culture. The presence of early urethane wheels suggests a post-1970 production, as clay wheels were common before this period. Condition is Fair to Good. Both boards show heavy wear consistent with age and use, including numerous scratches, scuffs, and dirt accumulation on the decks. The striped board has significant wear to the black stripes. The fiberglass board has peeling and chipping of the fiberglass coating, particularly around the edges and on the underside. Wheels are heavily worn and discolored, and the trucks show rust and pitting. Both boards are structurally intact but are not in rideable condition without significant restoration; they are offered as collector's items.
