Description:

This charming miniature novelty slot machine coin bank is a classic Las Vegas souvenir piece dating to the 1950s, capturing the golden era of Nevada gambling culture at its most iconic. Constructed of chrome-plated die-cast metal, the piece faithfully replicates the form of a full-size one-armed bandit, complete with a functional pull handle on the right side, a coin slot at the upper left, a coin return tray at the bottom, and a three-reel window displaying colorful fruit symbols including cherries, a blue oval, and a yellow symbol. The front face features a raised '10c' denomination medallion in the upper right corner and a bold yellow circular medallion at center depicting a cartoon cowboy figure with the text 'Las Vegas Nevada,' a graphic style highly characteristic of mid-century Western Americana souvenir design. The ribbed horizontal banding across the lower body and the vertical ribbing on the upper cabinet closely mimic the Art Deco-influenced styling of actual Bally and Mills slot machines of the era, making this a faithful and evocative miniature tribute. These novelty banks were widely sold in Las Vegas gift shops during the 1950s and early 1960s as affordable souvenirs for tourists experiencing Nevada's booming casino scene, and they are now sought-after collectibles among casino memorabilia, coin bank, and Americana collectors alike. Condition is rated Very Good; the chrome plating retains strong overall luster with areas of light tarnishing and minor oxidation visible on the side panels consistent with age, the Las Vegas Nevada paper label medallion shows slight yellowing and minor edge wear, and the pull handle and reel mechanism appear intact and functional. No significant dents, cracks, or missing parts are observed, making this an above-average example of this popular mid-century souvenir type.
