Description:

This lot includes two distinct vintage pieces: a cast aluminum longhorn bull head figurine stamped 'MEXICO' on the reverse base, and a 1967 Canada Centennial silver dollar (Canada 1867-1967) featuring the iconic Canada Goose reverse design. The longhorn bull head figurine is a solid cast aluminum piece displaying a stylized steer skull with dramatically swept long horns, textured stippled detailing on the forehead and chest plate areas, and a flared trapezoidal base — a classic example of mid-20th century Mexican folk art metalwork popular as a souvenir and decorative piece throughout the American Southwest and Colorado border trade. Measuring approximately 5 inches tall by 4 inches wide, the figurine has good heft and solid construction consistent with sand-cast aluminum production techniques common in Mexican craft workshops of the 1950s-1970s. The 1967 Canadian Centennial Dollar commemorates Canada's 100th anniversary of Confederation (1867-1967), designed by Alex Colville and struck in 80% silver, featuring a Canada Goose in flight — a highly collectible commemorative coin sought by numismatists across North America. The reverse of the coin shows a hand-soldered belt buckle conversion frame, indicating it was repurposed as a belt buckle at some point, which affects its numismatic value but adds folk art character. Condition: The aluminum longhorn figurine is in Good condition showing age-appropriate oxidation darkening on the reverse and interior surfaces, light surface scratches, and expected patina; structurally solid with no breaks or missing elements. The coin/buckle is in Fair numismatic condition due to the soldered buckle hardware on the reverse which constitutes a significant alteration; the obverse face retains good detail and the coin is otherwise intact.
