Description:

This is a Delta International Machinery Corp 15-inch scroll saw, catalog number 40-150, serial number R-9243, manufactured in Taiwan and distributed by Delta International Machinery Corp of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The machine features a heavy cast iron base and worktable finished in Delta's signature industrial gray-green enamel, with a parallel-arm design that provides smooth, consistent blade action ideal for intricate fretwork, inlay cutting, and decorative woodworking. The cast iron table measures approximately 16 inches wide by 10 inches deep and tilts for bevel cuts, supported by a robust cast iron frame with integrated spring-tensioned blade guides visible on the left column. Delta was one of the premier American power tool brands throughout the mid-to-late 20th century, and the 40-150 model was a popular hobbyist and semi-professional scroll saw known for its solid construction and reliable performance. The upper arm carries the blade tensioning mechanism and a red plastic blade guard/hold-down, and the machine includes the original power cord. The data plate confirms UL listing (37J2) and all original labeling is intact and legible. Condition is rated Good to Very Good: the cast iron table shows surface oxidation, light rust patina, and general workshop wear consistent with regular use; the gray-green enamel on the body shows minor scuffs and chips but no significant damage; all mechanical components appear intact with no missing parts observed; the blade is present and the tensioning hardware appears functional. Buyers should inspect and test prior to use as electrical functionality is not verified by the auction house.
