Beautiful jagged sawtooth edge and Hobstar Pinwheel Pattern (Libbey’s Brilliant Period -‘Aztec’ Pattern).
The Aztec pattern was introduced in 1896 with Libbey’s Brilliant Period running from approx the 1890’s-1915.
Hallmarks of Libbey’s ‘Aztec’ Pattern:
- Deep hobstars with radiating fans.
- Large pinwheel motifs alternating with clear panels or cross-hatching.
- Geometric, sharp cutting with exceptional depth and sparkle, characteristic of Libbey’s Brilliant Period (1890s–1915).
- The large daisy/hobstar medallion and the deep mitre cuts visible in your center plate are classic Aztec elements.
