Offered here are two vintage silver-plated reproductions by Gorham, made for The Metropolitan Museum of Art. This pair includes a Greek Kylix ca. 500 BC and a Roman Trulla, First Century BC. Both pieces are marked on the underside with detailed inscriptions and carry the Gorham hallmark along with the Met attribution. These were produced as part of the museum’s Horizon Collection in the mid-20th century, faithfully recreating the forms of classical antiquity.
The kylix features twin scrolled handles with intricate decoration to the interior, while the trulla has a long spout and rounded handle, with a gilt interior wash. Both show natural age-related patina and light surface wear. These collectible reproductions make excellent decorative accents for lovers of classical art and fine museum-inspired silver.
