Description:

Lot # 55 - Original German Third Reich ADOLF HITLER CIGARETTE CARD BOOK Hardcover Filled with Loose Photos.  In German Language.

Historical memorabilia about Adolf Hitler and his rise to power, written in German and printed in Germany, c. 1936. Published by Cigaretten Bilderdienst. These are called 'Cigarette Books' and were very popular long before WW2. The 12" x 9", 134 page hardcover photo albums were purchased with blank spaces among the writing and were filled over time with photos that were in the cigarette packs when you purchased them.  Each blank spot had a card number indicating which photo card to paste in that spot.

This book shows a lot of soil from handling, plus the spine has come loose.  Foxing and spotting on pages.  Most of the loose photos were collected and present.  Many have detached but are still in those pages.  Each photo card has the story on the back (in German).
