Description:

This lot comprises five vintage fishing rods spanning approximately the 1960s through 1980s, representing a cross-section of mid-century American rod-building craftsmanship ideal for Colorado trout anglers and tackle collectors alike. The collection includes a mix of fiberglass and graphite blanks in cream/yellow, green, brown/red, black, and teal colorways, with one rod clearly labeled 'All Graphite' and another bearing what appears to be an Airfox or similar branded label with white and black wraps. Each rod features full-wells or half-wells natural cork grips in varying states of wear, with reel seats ranging from gold-anodized aluminum to black anodized and chrome hardware — the gold-toned seats on two rods are particularly indicative of 1960s-70s production aesthetics. Guide wraps are present in green, black, and natural thread, with snake guides and tip-tops consistent with fly rod configurations; estimated lengths range from approximately 7.5 to 9 feet based on photographic proportion. These rods would have been used on Colorado's legendary trout streams including the South Platte, Frying Pan, and Arkansas Rivers, making them regionally relevant collectibles as well as functional fishing tools. Condition is overall Fair to Good: cork grips show significant darkening, compression wear, and surface pitting consistent with decades of use; several grips have minor chunks or voids in the cork. Reel seats show tarnish, oxidation, and minor corrosion on the gold-toned hardware; the green-wrapped rod shows some thread separation near the grip. Blanks appear straight with no visible cracks or breaks observed, though guide feet wraps show age-related wear and some thread fraying. Sold as a lot, as-is — ideal for the collector, restorer, or angler seeking vintage Colorado fly fishing gear.
