This is a custom-built or commercially fabricated placer gold mining sluice box system constructed primarily from heavy-gauge galvanized sheet steel, measuring approximately 5-6 feet in length and 18-24 inches wide. The system features a multi-tiered design with an elevated upper feed trough/hopper that angles down into a lower classification and recovery sluice channel, which is fitted with expanded metal riffles and wire mesh classifier screens designed to trap and concentrate heavy minerals including gold. An integrated PVC plumbing recirculation system is a standout feature, incorporating schedule 40 PVC pipe, elbow fittings, T-junctions, a corrugated black flex hose, and what appears to be a pump inlet/outlet valve assembly with a blue-handled ball valve, allowing water to be recirculated in a closed-loop system — ideal for dry Colorado high-country locations or claims with limited water access. The lower sluice deck displays a corrugated or expanded metal riffle mat system designed to create hydraulic dead zones where gold and heavy black sand concentrate. This type of recirculating sluice setup is highly practical for Rocky Mountain placer mining operations in Colorado, where water conservation is critical in alpine and arid environments. Condition is Good overall; the galvanized steel shows moderate surface oxidation, rust staining, and patina consistent with field use, the PVC plumbing appears intact and functional with no visible cracks, and the riffle screens show wear and mineral staining but remain serviceable. Some minor deformation to sheet metal edges is noted. Buyer should inspect all fittings and connections prior to use and may wish to reseal any seams.
