Description:

An exceptional collection of approximately 30+ original World War II and Korean War era U.S. military insignia patches, pins, and ephemera, representing a broad cross-section of American military history. Identified patches in the lot include: 2nd Infantry Division (Indian Head), 1st Infantry Division (Big Red One), 3rd Infantry Division, 6th Armored Division, 75th Infantry Division, U.S. Army Rangers diamond patch, Navy Seabees (CB) circular patch, 34th Infantry Division (Red Bull), 2nd Armored Division, 12th Army Corps, 4th Infantry Division, and what appears to be a Southwest Desert (Cactus) patch, along with multiple rank chevrons, service stripes, and overseas bars. The lot also includes a large white cloth panel bearing a blue embroidered German Reichsadler (eagle with swastika), consistent with a captured or souvenir Third Reich textile — a significant and historically important piece. A secondary cloth panel holds approximately 8-10 metal pins and insignia including what appear to be USMC globe-and-anchor pins, a gold star, military qualification badges, and a service ribbon bar. Patches are constructed of wool and cotton twill with chain-stitch and flat-stitch embroidery typical of WWII-era government-issue manufacture; merrowed edges and olive drab wool backings are consistent with authentic period production. Condition is overall Good to Very Good for the patches — most retain strong color with expected light soiling, minor fraying to edges, and some loose threads consistent with 75-80 years of age; a few patches show moderate fading or edge wear. The German eagle textile shows staining and handling wear but remains structurally intact. The pin collection shows light tarnish and oxidation. This is an outstanding militaria accumulation ideal for collectors, re-enactors, or display, with strong appeal to Colorado and Western U.S. military history enthusiasts given the Desert/Southwest division representation.
