Description:

This lot includes two workshop vises: a Craftsman 4-Inch Workshop Vise (model #951854) in its original box, and a vintage Made in USA cast aluminum clamp-on bench vise. The Craftsman vise features a 4-inch reversible jaw with a 4.5-inch jaw opening, built-in pipe jaws, and a swivel base — a classic heavy-duty cast iron bench vise well-regarded by hobbyists and tradespeople alike. The Craftsman model 951854 was a popular Sears-era workhorse vise, constructed of cast iron with a black enamel finish and serrated steel jaw inserts; it includes the handle bar and mounting hardware. The second vise is a compact cast aluminum clamp-on style, stamped 'Made in U.S.A.' on the jaw face, featuring a bench-clamp mounting base with a thumbscrew, a threaded lead screw with a steel handle rod, and appears to be a jeweler's or hobby-grade vise approximately 4-5 inches tall overall — likely vintage mid-20th century American manufacture. Condition: The Craftsman vise rates Fair to Good — the cast iron body shows heavy surface rust, chipped and flaking black paint, and significant wear consistent with shop use; the jaw inserts and screw mechanism appear intact and functional, though cleaning and lubrication are recommended. The original box is present but worn with tears and crushing. The aluminum clamp vise rates Good — it retains its silver aluminum finish with light surface oxidation, minor grime, and some rust at the steel screw components, but all mechanical parts appear present and operable. Both vises are sold as-is and represent solid shop utility tools for the garage, workshop, or Colorado homesteader.
