Description:

An exceptional collection of vintage Parker Brothers and other classic board and card games spanning approximately the 1930s through 1970s, representing a treasure trove for game collectors and nostalgia enthusiasts. The lot includes: Parker Brothers Rummy and Other Games (Home Edition), Parker Brothers Pit - The World's Liveliest Trading Game (wheat stalk orange box edition), Parker Brothers Flinch New Edition (red box, 'Millions Play It!'), Parker Brothers Touring - The Famous Automobile Card Game (Improved Edition, Salem MA), Parker Brothers Contack (red/blue clown face box, 'Fascinating Game,' Trade Mark Patent Pending), U.S. Rummy 'Know Our United States' All-Fair Card Game, Magnetic Backgammon (No. 848), Wire Puzzles (blue illustrated box), Jinx 11 (white box), a colorful wooden box game with hand-painted wooden tokens and illustrated discs (possibly a vintage spinner/token game), and a box of colorful wooden sticks/counting sticks. Parker Brothers, founded in Salem, Massachusetts in 1883, produced many of these titles during their golden age of family gaming, and several of these editions — particularly Touring (1920s-40s artwork), Contack, and Flinch — are highly sought by vintage game collectors. The Touring game features gorgeous Art Deco-era automobile lithography on its box lid. Condition varies across the lot: boxes range from Good to Fair with expected edge wear, corner splits, and surface soiling consistent with age and use; most appear to retain their contents though completeness of individual games has not been verified and is sold as-is. The wooden token game box shows honest patina and wear to the wood. This lot presents an outstanding opportunity for collectors, decorators, or game room enthusiasts in the Denver/Colorado area.
