This impressive collection of approximately 10 pieces of silver-plated hollowware represents a substantial grouping of formal entertaining pieces spanning the Edwardian and early Victorian revival eras, circa 1900-1940. The tea and coffee service includes two tall lidded pots (one teapot and one coffeepot) featuring elegant reeded/fluted vertical paneling with applied foliate cartouche decorations, a large water pitcher with matching fluted design, a lidded sugar bowl with double handles, a small creamer, and what appears to be a heavily tarnished open sugar or waste bowl. All service pieces share a cohesive design language with reeded bodies, decorative applied medallions, and stepped pedestal bases indicative of quality electroplated silverware from established American or English manufacturers of the period. The lot also includes a large oval two-handled serving tray (approximately 24 inches) with an engraved rococo floral border and bright-cut center, a round scalloped-edge entrée dish with an ornate pierced reticulated dome lid featuring intricate arabesque and floral cutwork with a finial handle, and a smaller scalloped serving tray. Condition is mixed across the group: the coffee and tea service pieces show moderate tarnish with some areas of plate wear exposing base metal, particularly on the sugar bowl and waste bowl which show significant darkening; the large oval tray retains good plate with light surface scratches; the pierced dome entrée dish shows notable tarnish and plate loss on the base dish but the pierced lid remains structurally intact. Overall condition grades from Fair to Good, with polishing likely to improve appearance considerably. A wonderful lot for a Colorado estate, bed and breakfast, or collector seeking a complete formal service.
