Description:

An exceptional and rare find: a complete vintage Ampeg full stack rig comprising two separate amplifier heads and two matching 4x12 speaker cabinets, all dating to the early-to-mid 1970s golden era of Ampeg production. The top head appears to be an Ampeg V-2 or V-series head featuring the classic silver control panel with dual inputs (One/Two), dual Volume knobs, Treble, Midrange, Bass, Reverb, and Master Volume controls, plus Standby, Polarity, and Power toggle switches — consistent with Ampeg's flagship tube amplifier lineup of the early 1970s. The lower head is an Ampeg V-4, displaying the hallmark Ampeg solid-state or hybrid amplifier head configuration with Sensitivity controls, Ultra Hi switch, and a full EQ section including Volume 1/2, Treble, Midrange, Bass, and Ultra Lo controls. Both heads are housed in the iconic black Tolex covering with silver aluminum corner protectors and the classic white-on-black 'ampeg' block-letter logo badge. The two 4x12 speaker cabinets are large-format Ampeg enclosures covered in matching black Tolex with the circular Ampeg 'a' logo badge, chrome corner hardware, and side-mounted carry handles — a formidable full wall of sound. Ampeg, founded by Everett Hull in 1946 and reaching its peak collectibility during the Magnavox ownership era (1971–1980), produced some of the most sought-after amplification equipment in rock history, used by legendary artists including John Entwistle, Geddy Lee, and countless others. The control panels show honest patina and wear consistent with 50+ years of use, including oxidation and light scratching to the silver aluminum faceplates, scuffing and edge wear to the Tolex covering on all four pieces, and general road-worn character expected of working vintage gear. Functionality of the amplifier heads is unverified and should be assessed by a qualified technician prior to use; tubes and capacitors may require servicing. Overall condition is rated Good to Very Good for vintage working equipment of this age, with all cosmetic components intact and no visible catastrophic damage. This is an extraordinary opportunity to acquire a complete, matching vintage Ampeg full stack — an increasingly rare find in the Colorado vintage gear market and a dream setup for serious musicians, collectors, or recording studios.
