This is a Toshiba PC-3060 Stereo Cassette Deck, a feature-rich component-grade tape deck from the late 1970s representing Toshiba's mid-to-upper tier consumer audio lineup. The brushed aluminum silver faceplate is characteristic of the era's component stereo aesthetic, designed to integrate seamlessly into a rack system alongside matching amplifiers and tuners. This unit is loaded with features including Dolby NR (noise reduction), Dolby FM calibration, bias equalizer selector supporting Normal, Chrome, and Fe-Cr tape formulations, dual analog VU meters for left and right channel level monitoring, a tape counter, timer record/play function with pre-set record capability, auto play, review/cue transport controls, auto shut-off mechanism, and both headphone and microphone inputs. The large record level knob and individual Dolby NR and Dolby FM toggle controls reflect the professional-leaning design philosophy of late-1970s Japanese hi-fi engineering. The dual backlit VU meters with dB scales and red-zone indicators are a hallmark feature that collectors prize for both aesthetics and functionality. Condition is Good to Very Good overall; the brushed aluminum faceplate shows light surface scuffs and minor wear consistent with age and use, the VU meter faces appear intact with no visible cracks, and all knobs and buttons appear present and intact. Functionality and mechanical condition of the transport, belts, and heads are unknown and untested — sold as-is for parts, restoration, or display, and prospective buyers should factor in potential service needs including belt replacement typical of decks of this vintage.
