This lot includes four handcrafted tribal percussion and folk instruments: a round frame drum with natural animal hide head and twisted cord hanger, a cylindrical drum with a stick-and-wire laced body and hide head, a woven rattan/cane vessel or drum body with a flat wooden top panel, and a multi-bead rattle on a wooden handle with feather accent and braided cord. Materials throughout include natural hide, woven rattan, wood, wire lashing, and natural fiber cordage, consistent with African or Southeast Asian folk instrument traditions. The frame drum head shows surface soiling, scratching, and age patina; the cylindrical drum has some wire lashing loosening; the woven vessel is intact with good weave structure; the rattle beads display burned geometric decoration in good condition. All four pieces show honest age-related wear consistent with use and display.
