Lot # 610 - Vintage Hagoita Paddle for playing New Years Game Hanetsuki .  Age unknown, early 1900s?.  This ornate wooden paddle is called a Hagoita and is used to play a traditional New Years game called Hanetsuki.  Highly decorated, the woman on the paddle is commonly a famous Kabuki actor at the time.  She has something in her hand that may have been a flower, it is only the stem now.  Measures 22" tall.  Solid wood paddle with hand painted leaves on the back.
