Description:

Lot # 565 - Set of Antique Items from India - Chaur Sahib- Newspaper Pic of Ghandi. A unique variety of items from India! First a yak's hair Chaur Sahib with a hand painted wooden handle, used by holy men in ceremony. Also a brass Pooja Spoon also used in ceremonies. Brass mail holder/caddy and a small strainer. Also includes a "Protecting Hand" purchased in 1936 at a Ripley's Believe it or Not exhibit along with a framed explanation from Ripley's. Also includes a thick brass vase 7" tall. Last is a framed photo of Richard Ghandi a Lawyer (No relation) but on the back is a newspaper clipping showing a young Ghandi before becoming a holy man. It appears the family may have believed the front photo is Mahatma Ghandi.
