This is a finely crafted Native American burden basket, likely of Western Apache or possibly Pima (Akimel O’odham) origin, square start at the base, and coil construction with a rod foundation. The consistent vertical coil and stitch patterns suggest traditional techniques used in Southwestern tribal basketry.
Approx 12” x 8” at bottom and 13” at top.
