Lot # 589 -Chinese Imperial Court Buddhist Peking Yellow, Pink, Blue & Green Glass Chao Zhu Prayer Beads-56" Necklace

19th c. necklace called Chao Zhu worn in the Chinese Mandarin Court by Imperial family and court officials from the Qing Dynasty. These necklaces were an important part of Qing ceremonial dress. This style of necklace is typical of Buddhist Mala Prayer Beads. The beads are all hand-blown glass called Peking Glass, superb quality and color.
