Description:

Tested and Works!  Cabinet measures 27" x 18.5" x 30.5" Tall.  With left arm open 40"

The Singer 101 was introduced in 1925 and marked a significant step in sewing machine innovation. It was Singer’s first home-use machine with an internal electric motor, setting the stage for future models. Known for its smooth operation, it was a high-end model primarily sold in cabinets.

  • Cast Iron Body with Japan Finish: The black enamel with gold decals is characteristic of the 1920s-30s Singer design. These machines were built to last, and yours retains a great deal of its original finish.

  • Built-in Electric Motor: Unlike many other early machines that had bolt-on motors, the 101’s motor is fully integrated into the body—an advanced design at the time.

  • Streamlined Design: The absence of an external belt (everything is internal) makes this model quieter and sleeker than its predecessors.

  • Cabinet Design:  features classic 1920s furniture styling with a hidden compartment for storing sewing accessories and a ruler inlaid on the fold-out work surface—a functional yet elegant detail.
