Description:
Lot #243 - Signed Drawings by Louis Nizer, Dutch Treat Club, Featuring Artist Eric Sloane, Musician Billy Taylor, & More
May 6th 1976 Dutch Treat Club Anniversary Dinner at the Plaza Hotel. This was attended by many famous artists and other celebrities of the time. The drawings here were made by Attorney Louis Nizer (on the back it says "who tried the Rosenberg Case" but he was a trial lawyer who was not involved but wrote a famous book on the case.) The drawings feature artist Eric Sloane, musician Billy Taylor, composer Richard Rodgers & choreographer Michael Bennett.
The reference to "Keep those women out" is made because women were not permitted to be part of the Dutch Treat Club but were in attendance at this anniversary dinner as guests.
Cloth napkin is lightly embroidered with a floral crest and letters db, has illustrations drawn on, mounted to foam board and sealed in plastic with a hanging wire on the back. Has some specks all over top right. Unsure if it's paint but it's on the plastic so should be able to be cleaned off.
Roughly 17.5" x 22"
