Sydney Lane Estate Sales on Denver Online Auctions – Terms & Conditions

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY


1. Registration Requirements

All bidders must register online with accurate information, including:
• Full name
• Address
• Phone number
• Email address
• Valid credit card

By registering and bidding, you confirm that you have read, understand, and agree to all Denver Online Auctions Terms & Conditions, as well as all terms posted by here and in the auction information.


2. How Bidding Works (Max Bid System)

Our auctions use an automatic max bid system for fairness and convenience.

  • When you enter a max bid, you are telling the system the highest amount you are willing to pay.
  • The system will bid only the minimum amount needed to keep you in the lead — up to your max bid.
  • If another bidder previously entered a higher max bid, the system will automatically outbid you.
  • You may briefly see yourself as the high bidder, but the system will immediately update if a higher max bid already exists.

This is not a glitch — it is how the platform ensures fairness.
The highest max bid at the auction’s closing time wins.


3. Buyer’s Premium

buyer’s premium is an additional fee paid by the buyer on top of the final bid.
It does not go to the buyer — it is a standard auction fee.

The buyer’s premium helps cover:

  • Online auction software
  • Hosting
  • Payment processing
  • Administrative work required to run an online sale

Sydney Lane Estate Sales charges 15% buyer’s premium. We do not offer discounts.


4. Profile & Contact Info

Make sure all information in your bidding profile is valid and up-to-date (address, phone, billing, credit card, email). You are responsible for ensuring you can receive our emails and texts (winning notices, invoices, updates).

Sydney Lane Estate Sales is not responsible for emails, texts, or voicemails that you do not receive. Please check your spam if you do not see an email within 15 minutes of the auction ending.

“I didn’t know I won” or missing pickup because instructions weren’t followed are not valid excuses. If you do not pick up during the scheduled pickup days/times, you forfeit the items and the money paid.

Be a responsible bidder:

    • You know what you're bidding on.
    • You know when the auction ends.
    • You know when pickup is.
    • It is your responsibility to check the website to confirm whether you won.
    • You can ALWAYS find your invoices under the menu – My Account – Auction Invoices

5. Payment Processing

Denver Online Auctions uses STRIPE for credit card processing.
Stripe is a PCI DSS Level 1 Certified Service Provider, the highest level of payment security certification.

Sydney Lane Estate Sales requires all payments to be made online by 10am on pickup day, even if alternative pickup arrangements have been made. You must go in and pay your invoices – your card is not automatically charged.


6. All Items Sold As-Is

These are estate sale items, and most are pre-owned.

  • All items are sold AS-IS, with NO warranties of any kind.
  • Minor flaws, wear, or signs of use should be expected.
  • Obvious flaws will be shown in photos or noted in the description.
  • The absence of listed flaws does not mean the item is perfect.
  • Buyers are responsible for examining photos, asking questions, or requesting more photos.

·        Items shown in photos for display purposes, such as crates, totes, step blocks, backdrops, etc., are not included in the sale unless explicitly mentioned in the description.

  • All sales are final. No refunds, returns, exchanges, or price adjustments.
    Removal is at the buyer’s sole risk and expense.

No sale will be canceled due to condition issues, defects, or buyer’s remorse — whether known or unknown, visible or not visible.


7. Pick-Up Rules & Late Pick-Up Policy

Each auction has a designated pickup date and time.

IMPORTANT:
Any items not picked up by the end of the scheduled pickup window — without prior communication — will be considered abandoned and forfeited with no refund.

If you cannot pick up during the designated time, you must contact the seller BEFORE bidding to arrange an alternative. There is often no alternative. We move from home to home and generally the home is being emptied immediately following pick up and we are moving onto the next home.


8. Non-Payment Policy

Estate auctions cannot be “relisted” like eBay.
Winning a bid means entering a legally binding contract.

If you:

  • fail to pay,
  • do not show up, or
  • arrive late with no communication,

you will be:

  1. Automatically charged for your purchases, and
  2. Banned from future auctions on Denver Online Auctions.

Please bid responsibly.


9. Bidder Eligibility & Acknowledgments

  • You must be 18 years or older to register and bid.
  • Denver Online Auctions may suspend or revoke bidding privileges at any time for any reason.
  • These terms form a legal agreement between you and Sydney Lane Estate Sales.

10. Personal Injury or Property Damage

By attending any pickup, you agree to assume all risks associated with entering the property.

Sydney Lane Estate Sales is not responsible for accidents, injuries, theft, or property damage occurring on-site.

Buyers release Sydney Lane Estate Sales from all liability.


11. Before You Leave Pickup

Please inspect your items before leaving the property.
Once items leave the premises, no adjustments, exchanges, or claims will be accepted.


12. Shipping for Out-of-State Bidders

Shipping availability varies by item.

  • Not all items are shippable.
  • It is the bidder’s responsibility to verify shipping availability before bidding.
  • Sellers do NOT automatically assume shipping is needed just because you have an out-of-state address.

How to request shipping:
• Reply to your winning email, or
• Contact the seller directly via email or phone.

If the seller does not hear from you, it is assumed you will pick up your items.


13. Special Pickup Instructions

Winning bidders must:

  1. Bring adequate help and tools.
  2. Understand that sellers do not assist with moving or loading.
  3. Remove items without causing damage to the property.
  4. Have the ability, tools, and manpower to safely remove items.
  5. Take full responsibility for any damage caused during removal.

If a buyer arrives unprepared, the seller may refuse release of the item.


14. Final Sale Terms

All sales are final.
No refunds, returns, credits, or exchanges.

Most items are previously used and may show signs of age or wear.
If you are unsure, ask questions before bidding.
