This estate auction lot features a collector-assembled group of Franklin Half Dollars, dated 1957 through 1963, primarily Denver Mint (D) issues. Franklin half dollars are composed of 90% silver and remain popular with collectors for both their bullion value and classic mid-century U.S. design.
Several coins in this group are collector-noted as FBL (Full Bell Lines)—a designation referring to the horizontal lines at the base of the Liberty Bell on the reverse. Clear, uninterrupted bell lines indicate a stronger strike, a key attribute actively sought by Franklin half dollar collectors, as many examples from this series were weakly struck.
