These two late-series Buffalo nickels were kept together by a longtime collector due to noted date and portrait characteristics, making them appealing to collectors who focus on varieties, die states, and mint production nuances.

Why These Coins Are Unique

The 1937-D coin is collector-noted for a “double date / profile” appearance, a term commonly used by collectors to describe die wear, die fatigue, or strike-related effects that can create the visual impression of doubling in the date or portrait details.
