Description:

Offered is an original 1935 delegate certificate issued by the Conference Committee of the Midwest Republican Conference. The document appoints a named citizen of Kansas as an official Delegate to the Midwest Republican Conference held in Springfield on June 10–11, 1935.

The certificate features a prominent engraved portrait of Abraham Lincoln, along with a quotation from the Gettysburg Address at the top. It bears original signatures of the conference Chairman and Secretary, and is dated June 10, 1935. Printed on period paper, the piece reflects authentic New Deal–era political ephemera tied to Republican Party organization in the Midwest.

Condition: Overall good for age, with expected toning, light staining, and edge wear consistent with 1930s paper. Ink signatures remain legible. No restoration observed.

This certificate is a strong standalone collectible for those interested in American political history, Republican Party ephemera, Lincoln iconography, or Midwest regional politics.

Also offered is an original early-20th-century political delegate ribbon, issued for the Republican State Convention held in Des Moines, Iowa, in August 1906.

This ribbon is clearly marked “Delegate” at the top and printed “Republican State Convention, Des Moines, Aug. 1st, 1906.” It retains its original metal hanger with decorative scrollwork and a blue fabric ribbon with gilt lettering. Such ribbons were worn by official delegates attending state political conventions during the pre-World War I era.

Condition is consistent with age and use, showing fabric fraying, wear, and losses to the ribbon, with oxidation and surface wear to the metal hanger. These signs of wear are typical for political textiles of this period and support authenticity. No restoration has been attempted.

This piece represents an authentic artifact of early American political history, well suited for collectors of political memorabilia, campaign ephemera, Iowa history, or pre-1910 convention material. Early state-level delegate ribbons are increasingly scarce due to their fragile nature and limited original production.
