Handcrafted Ceramic Ikebana Flower Frog Vase with an organic, wavy upper tier and a pedestal base. It features an earthy, multi-toned slip-trailed or drip glaze pattern, and it is accented by a small white ceramic bird figurine resting on the top lip. It measures approximately 9 inches wide, 7 inches deep, and 2 inches high.
Vases like this are specifically designed for Ikebana, the traditional Japanese art of flower arrangement. The hollow central opening is built to accommodate a "frog" (a heavy mechanism with prongs or holes, typically made of metal or ceramic) to securely hold flower stems at precise angles.
The bird figurine is separate, white with an orange beak, and marked with Kotobuki Japan on the bottom.
