This is a Yamaha XS650 Special, one of the most iconic and collectible Japanese vintage motorcycles ever produced, manufactured between the mid-1970s and early 1980s. The XS650 Special featured Yamaha's legendary air-cooled parallel-twin 653cc OHC engine, widely praised for its reliability and tuneability, and the model badge visible on the side cover confirms the 'Special 650' designation along with what appears to be a 'Raider' badge. The fuel tank retains its original silver/champagne gold finish with raised chrome Yamaha lettering, and the engine cases, exhaust headers, and chrome front forks are all present and accounted for, though heavily oxidized from extended outdoor storage. This bike presents as a classic barn-find or field-find project, having been stored outdoors for an extended period — weeds and debris are packed around the engine and frame, and a Husqvarna-branded yellow and blue canvas cover was draped over the rear section. Condition is rated Poor-to-Fair: the seat vinyl has completely deteriorated, exposing the foam underneath which is also heavily degraded and crumbling; the fuel tank shows surface rust, scratches, and paint oxidation; chrome components show significant pitting and tarnish; and the engine's running condition is completely unknown. The XS650 platform is enormously popular in the custom, cafe racer, bobber, and scrambler communities, making this an excellent candidate for a full restoration or custom build — parts availability is exceptional with a robust global aftermarket. Sold as-is for parts or restoration; title status unknown, buyer is responsible for verifying Colorado DMV title and registration requirements.
