The artwork features a dominant mountainous landscape with jagged peaks and snow-capped surfaces, predominantly in shades of blue and gray. An eagle with outstretched wings is depicted soaring above dark rocky terrain and evergreen trees. 

Tom J. Dooley (1942-2010) was a Colorado artist known for his Western-themed landscape and wildlife paintings. His work often depicted scenes with mountains, rivers, covered wagons, and Native American encampments. He was honored by the state of Alabama for his artistic accomplishments in 1989. Some of his works include paintings of pueblos and other Western scenes.
