Description:

This is an authentic US Military issue canvas duffle bag, consistent with the two-strap style introduced in the late Vietnam War era and continuing through the 1970s-1980s. Constructed of heavy-duty olive drab (OD Green) cotton canvas, this bag features the classic cylindrical duffle form with a reinforced rounded bottom, two metal grommets at the top opening for securing with a padlock, an exterior front pocket with snap closure, a woven nylon carrying strap with metal snap hook hardware, and a webbing handle/strap loop system for shoulder or hand carry. The stenciled 'US' marking is clearly visible on the body of the bag, a standard government-issue identification mark applied to all military personal gear of this period. These bags were standard issue to enlisted personnel across all branches and saw widespread use from the Korean War era through the Cold War period, making them highly sought after by militaria collectors, reenactors, and vintage enthusiasts throughout Colorado and the Mountain West. Condition is rated Good to Fair: the canvas shows significant surface soiling, fading, and general grime consistent with field use; there is fraying and partial detachment of the webbing handle loop tab; the exterior pocket and strap hardware appear intact and functional; the grommets are present and intact; no major tears or holes are observed in the canvas body, though light scuffing and staining are present throughout. A genuine piece of American military history with honest, authentic field wear.
