Description:

This lot presents an impressive assembled collection of 30+ vintage souvenir teaspoons displayed on two wall-mounted wooden spoon racks, offered together as a complete ready-to-display set. The first rack is crafted from lighter oak-toned wood with a scalloped decorative edge and two tiers of horizontal slotted rails, measuring approximately 14 inches wide by 12 inches tall; the second rack is darker walnut-stained wood in a taller three-tier configuration approximately 10 inches wide by 18 inches tall, also with scalloped edges and a wall-hanging hole. The spoons themselves are a diverse mix of silver-plate, pewter, aluminum, copper-toned, and white metal examples, each featuring decorative enamel or engraved figural handles representing various travel destinations — with several clearly identifiable New Mexico spoons including a hot air balloon Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta enamel medallion, New Mexico state shield enamel tops, and additional Southwestern regional examples highly relevant to Colorado and Rocky Mountain region collectors. Additional spoons appear to represent national landmarks, coastal destinations, and international locales, with handle styles ranging from twisted rope shafts to shell-shaped bowls and figural finials including a bird or eagle form. Souvenir spoon collecting peaked in popularity from the 1890s through the mid-20th century, and assembled regional collections with display racks are increasingly sought by decorative collectors, Americana enthusiasts, and those with ties to the Southwest. Condition is overall Good to Very Good for the collection as a whole; the wooden racks show light surface scratches, minor scuffs, and age-appropriate patina consistent with decades of wall display use; individual spoons show varying degrees of light tarnish, minor surface oxidation, and expected wear, with no noted breaks or missing bowls observed; enamel medallions on the handles appear largely intact with minor edge wear on select examples. This is an ideal turnkey display collection for a cabin, lodge, or Southwestern-themed home decor.
