Description:

This charming four-piece collection of Dutch Delftware pottery showcases the iconic cobalt blue and white hand-painted floral decoration synonymous with Holland's centuries-old ceramic tradition. The lot includes two bud vases of differing forms — a tall teardrop/bottle-neck vase (approximately 7-8 inches tall) featuring classic pendant dot and stripe neck decoration above densely painted peony and foliate motifs, and a smaller baluster-form vase (approximately 5-6 inches tall) with flared rim and lush peony bouquet decoration — along with a ceramic clog (klompen) figurine approximately 5 inches long decorated with peony and leaf sprays, and a scallop-edged open bowl approximately 4-5 inches in diameter with delicate asterisk/snowflake interior accents and floral exterior border. Delftware pottery has been produced in the Netherlands since the early 17th century, originally inspired by Chinese Ming dynasty blue-and-white porcelain imported by the Dutch East India Company; these pieces reflect the mid-to-late 20th century production tradition from makers such as Royal Delft (De Porceleyne Fles) or similar Dutch potteries, with the clog form being a quintessential Dutch souvenir collectible. The painting style shows the characteristic loose, confident brushwork of hand-decorated Delftware with varying tones of cobalt blue achieved through layering, a hallmark of authentic Dutch production versus mass-printed imitations. Maker's marks are not clearly visible in the photos but bases should be examined for the typical Delft windmill or factory marks. Condition is overall Very Good; all four pieces appear intact without visible chips or cracks, the clog interior shows slight yellowing/aging of the unglazed cream interior, and there is minor expected crazing or light wear consistent with age and display use. A cohesive and displayable collection ideal for Dutch decor enthusiasts, blue-and-white collectors, or Colorado home decorators seeking European accent pieces.
