Description:

This complete dining set features a solid oak round pedestal table with a striking book-matched parquet/starburst veneer top, accompanied by four matching oak armchairs with upholstered seats and backs. The table top displays an eye-catching geometric pattern created by arranging oak veneer segments in a radiating starburst design, a hallmark of American furniture manufacturing popular in the late 1970s through 1980s. The table rests on a substantial turned pedestal base with splayed feet, estimated at approximately 42-48 inches in diameter and standard dining height of 30 inches. All four chairs feature solid oak frames with flat padded armrests, upholstered seats and curved backs in a mauve/dusty rose-brown fabric consistent with 1980s American interior design trends, and appear to ride on caster wheels for easy movement. This style of oak pedestal dining set was widely produced by American manufacturers such as Cochrane, Bassett, and similar mid-market furniture makers during the Reagan-era oak furniture boom, making it a practical and durable everyday dining solution. Condition is rated Good to Very Good overall: the table top shows light surface scratches and minor wear consistent with regular use, the parquet veneer appears intact with no lifting or delamination visible, and the pedestal base appears structurally sound. The chair upholstery shows age-related fading and light soiling consistent with decades of use, and the oak frames show minor scuffs; all four chairs appear structurally intact. This set would be ideal for a Colorado mountain cabin, breakfast nook, or anyone seeking a functional solid oak dining set at an accessible price point.
