Description:

Lot # 7 - Edward S. Curtis Copy Photograph c.1900 "White Calf-Piegan" Plate 189 ~ Framed.  Large 30" x 35" framed copy of old photo by Curtis.  Image is 11" x 15 1/2".   Paper is 16 1/2 x 20 3/4".  

Bottom says "From Copywrite Photograph 1900 by E.S. Curtis"  & "Photogravure John Andrew & Son"  with deal from "Library of the Peabody Institute.  Framed with glass.  Frame shows some damage.  Comes with a LOA but not verifiable.  

Edward Sherriff Curtis (February 19, 1868 – October 19, 1952) was an American photographer and ethnologist whose work focused on the American West and on Native American people.[1][2] Sometimes referred to as the "Shadow Catcher", Curtis traveled the United States to document and record the dwindling ways of life of various native tribes through photographs and audio recordings.
