This antique kneehole writing desk is constructed of mahogany and features a serpentine-front apron with decorative marquetry inlay depicting scrolling acanthus and floral motifs in contrasting lighter wood. The desk offers six drawers total — three on each pedestal — fitted with oval brass bail pulls, scalloped base skirts on each pedestal, and elegant saber-style legs. The top surface shows visible wear including light scratches, fading, and water ring marks consistent with age and use, while the brass hardware shows darkening patina. The overall structure appears solid with no visible breaks or missing elements, making this a strong candidate for refinishing or use as-is in a traditional or vintage interior.
