Lot # 656 - RARE FIND 19th Century Ottawa Birch Box Decorated with Porcupine Quills from the Great Lakes Region.  This old beauty is from the Ottawa tribe in the Great Lakes region.  Birch boxes with porcupine quills goes way back in time, who knows how old this might be!  Still in good condition for its age.  Some quills are starting to loosen.  The flower design is said to have originated in the upper NE areas and is very old. 

This box measures 9" x 5" x 1 1/2" tall.  Still closes nicely.
