Description:

Elegant European officer’s smallsword or dress sabre, dating to the early–mid 19th century.

This sword features a straight, tapered steel blade housed in its original blackened steel scabbard, with ornate brass fittings and twin suspension rings. The gilded brass hilt showcases fine floral engravings and a lion or classical head relief on the guard.

The grip is cast brass with spiral ribbing, typical of officer’s presentation or parade swords used in both French and German military traditions of the 1800s. These were often worn by infantry or ceremonial officers rather than intended for field combat.
