📚 Historical Significance

The USS Salamaua (CVE-96) served as a Casablanca-class escort carrier supporting Pacific operations during WWII. Escort carriers were critical in convoy protection and air support missions.

The USS Missouri (BB-63) is historically significant as the site of Japan’s formal surrender in 1945, ending World War II.

This collection reflects mid-20th-century naval service pride and remembrance.
