Offered is a group of vintage British paper currency, consisting of Bank of England pre-decimal banknotes dating from the mid-20th century, prior to the United Kingdom’s conversion to decimal currency in 1971.

This lot includes:

• Multiple Ten Shilling (10/-) notes

• Multiple One Pound (£1) notes

• A mix of Britannia-style designs and Queen Elizabeth II portrait issues

These notes represent the traditional British monetary system in which 20 shillings equaled one pound, and were widely circulated throughout the UK during the post-war period.

Condition ranges from circulated to heavily circulated, with visible folds, creases, edge wear, toning, and handling wear. Several notes display official cancellation markings or punch stamps, indicating withdrawal from circulation, as commonly seen in estate and institutional holdings. No cleaning or restoration has been attempted.

This is a solid collector or study lot with strong historical interest, well suited for collectors of British currency, pre-decimal money, or 20th-century financial history.
