Description:

Original leaf from the 1493 Nuremberg Chronicle, one of the most celebrated illustrated books of the early Renaissance period.

This example features a finely detailed woodcut view of Constantinople, referencing the historic events of the Fall of Constantinople, accompanied by Latin text. Printed in Nuremberg, the Chronicle is considered an incunabulum (a book printed before 1501) and is widely regarded as one of the most important early printed works.

The woodcut retains strong impression and clarity, with typical stylized medieval city depiction. The leaf is presented under mat and frame, showing expected age-related toning and minor edge wear consistent with a 15th-century printing.

Believed to be authentic but not certified as such

A desirable and accessible example of early European printing and historical illustration.
