Description:

Authentic hand-carved Hopi Katsina (Kachina) sculpture by Wilfred Kaye, a respected member of one of the most accomplished families of Hopi artists from Arizona.

Wilfred Kaye is part of a distinguished artistic lineage and is the brother of Wilmer Kaye, one of the most celebrated and award-winning contemporary Hopi carvers, as well as the late Verma Nequatewa (Sonwai), the internationally recognized Hopi jeweler renowned for his exceptional silverwork and jewelry designs. This important family connection places Wilfred Kaye among a notable tradition of Hopi artistic excellence.

The carving exhibits the clean lines, careful craftsmanship, and cultural significance associated with Hopi Katsina art. Katsina figures represent spiritual beings central to Hopi tradition and have long been collected for their artistic merit, cultural importance, and connection to the rich heritage of the American Southwest.

An excellent opportunity for collectors of Native American art, Hopi carvings, Southwestern artifacts, Indigenous artwork, Arizona artists, and fine handcrafted cultural objects.
