The heads are often constructed from papier-mâché or a crushed eggshell composite. They are dressed in intricate, hand-stitched silk robes featuring traditional embroidery. These figures are often referred to as puppets or marionettes, used to represent characters from traditional Chinese opera.
Condition: Antique items, show signs of age, wear and use.
