Description:

These are two vintage glass flower frogs featuring sharp metal pins set in amethyst glass bases. One is circular and the other rectangular, designed to hold flower stems in place for floral arranging. The metal pins allow for secure placement of individual flower stems, aiding in creating structured and artistic flower arrangements.

Amethyst glass, known for its beautiful purple hue, has been produced for centuries, often achieved by adding manganese or selenium to the glass mixture.  Its popularity surged during the Art Nouveau and Art Deco periods and it continued to be a favored color in mid-century modern glassware.
