Description:

.Lot # 173 - Misc Lot of Assorted Ephemera Incl Original Etching by Walter Ernest Tittle, Kohlberg's Denver Sand Art.  Lot includes an original etching by Walter Tittle where he signed in the plate.  Paper cut-outs of cranes, Colorful print of an Indian camp, colorful picture "The Warning Shadows", and a sand painting picture from Kohlberg's Denver.  Other assorted art, including a caricature of Hazel Lou Humphrey, and a snapshot of her Grandfather D. Harry Hammer. .  See pics for details

Walter Ernest Tittle was born in Sprinfield, Ohio on October 9, 1883.  Tittle studied at the New York School of Art and Art Students League under Chase, Henri, and Mora. As well as an artist, he was also a writer who contributed to Century magazine, Scribner's, and Illustrated London News.  In the 1950s he was in Danbury, Connecticut and later settled on the Monterey Peninsula.  He died in Carmel, CA on March 27, 1966.
