Heavy antique cast iron Home Savings Bank designed as a Victorian-style bank building, embossed on the front: “This Is The Property of The Home Savings Bank.” Side panel reads “Patents Pending.”
Likely dates to the early 1900s and is commonly attributed to J. & E. Stevens, a well-known American cast iron bank and toy manufacturer, though no maker’s mark was found—buyers should make their own determination.
Features molded brick detailing, windows, pitched roof with chimney, and hinged front door. Interior retains the original cast iron floor; removable metal bins and wood divider inserts appear to be later additions and may not be original.
Weighs nearly 10 pounds and measures approximately 7.5" wide x 7" deep x 10" tall. Shows age-related wear, oxidation, and patina consistent with antique use.
From the longtime Worden family collection associated with the former Worden Antiques store in Allegan, Michigan.
